That dashboard looks so familiar. Blanked out panels and everything

The blanked out panel on the right was where the push button 4x4 switches went.

Can’t say the dashboard looks familiar to me me, but I’m pretty sure my family’s lemon of a Taurus had that head unit, and possibly the climate control as well.

Yep, along with the forever-dark 4x4 indicators to the bottom-right of the instrument panel.

Those confused the absolute hell out of 9 year old me.
Dad had a ‘95 F-150. I knew it was 2WD when we went to look at it, but I still asked him if it was 4x4 when I saw those after he bought it.

Upon seeing those, I was very tempted to scavenge the switchgear from a 4x4 at the junkyard, and put some bulbs in behind those indicators rigged to the switches so I can make my truck “4x4" but without all the extra weight and traction lol

Mmm.. Love me some first gen Lightning. Not the best or fastest, but the coolest.

Exactly. Wish they were in some games or something. Probably the only way I’ll get to drive one.
